Effective with our April meeting we have changed our meeting location. Get the driving directions to our new meeting venue.
Workplace Diversity:
There is a lot of talk about "diversity in the workplace". Some companies seem to spend a lot of time focusing on it. Some even have people dedicated to working with it. What are these companies doing and why are they doing it? Should all workplaces spend time and money to understand diversity?
This presentation focuses on helping organizations to better understand how diversity strategically impacts the work done in your organization. We will examine different types of workplace diversity (not just race and gender but including race and gender) and define the difference between diversity awareness/sensitivity and diversity strategy. We will explore a variety of Diversity Business Cases and their link with Diversity ROI. Finally, participants will walk away with a strategic action plan to better address diversity in their workplace.
About the meeting presenter:
Jason Reep, SPHR – Jason is a Trainer/Organization Development Specialist at Washington Employers. He has over 15 years training, education, and facilitation experience in which he has designed, updated, and delivered multiple trainings provided to a broad range of individuals. He is known for his informal yet impactful training style.
Jason helps organizations to create and implement meaningful diversity initiatives (including diversity business case, diversity councils, cultural audit, diversity training/educational opportunities, diversity coaching, diversity policy review, and diversity strategic planning) and, through his diversity consultation, challenges workplaces to capitalize on their diversity through well conceived Organization Development practices. In addition to his Training and OD work, he also writes Affirmative Action Plans for Washington Employers’ member companies. Jason has a Master's Degree in Human Resource Development from Xavier University and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati.
